You could make a wish a wish or You could make it happen
Now I know what you’re almost certainly thinking. But you’re wrong. Dead wrong, in fact 9 out of 10 people I ask always go for the wrong option: long term success.
It’s an obvious choice, isn’t it?
So let me explain why it’s utter tripe. Firstly, you have to understand a weird paradox – and make no mistake about it. Long term success is made up of a string of short term successes, all stuck together.
So if your latest mailing or landing page just beat your control, don’t pat yourself on the back. Work even harder to try and beat it again.
Make beating one success after another your mission in life and the inevitable will happen: long term success. Never – and I mean never – be in the other camp. Start worrying whenever you say, or hear, phrases like:
“It’s a marathon, not a sprint.”
Or worse:
“It’s too early to tell yet.”
So what’s the ‘take away’ of this little piece? It’s simple, and it’s this: Never forget nothing in business happens until you sell something. So go hell for leather on sales. Make sure you have a good day. A good week. A good month.
These successes will give you what you’re looking for.
Now let me give you an example of all this. If you’ ve ever wondered why I mail so much, well, now you know.
And at this point, if you’re sat there nodding sagely, but thinking, “Yes, but it wouldn’t work in my business” I can utterly assure you, you are wrong. But I have learnt over the years, trying to change some people’s mind on this is futile. But the others, the people willing to learn, to try, to zig when everyone else is zagging, they are the ones that end up eating the other guy’s lunch.
Is that you? I’d say there’s a good chance if you’ve read so far – but you’ll have an even better chance if you join, my club.
